So I glazed the 2nd Polka Dot pot yesterday, and for some reason completely forgot to wipe off the bottom. Remembered this morning that it may not be completely clean on the bottom, but wasn’t sure if the kiln had been loaded…rushed into uni today as soon as I’d remembered. The kiln had been fired…so it may well be stuck to the shelf because I’m not sure if the 2nd years checked it when loading the kilns. Eep.
All the jewellery pieces I glazed, I glazed all over because the backs would be seen, and they’re for rings - so no holes in them, I was intending to use the tiny stack things to rest them on. They didn’t get fired because of this…and now I’ve been told I can only glaze one side of them because the stacks aren’t small enough to prop them up.
On top of all that, I got an email from the course leader about my attendance (which, by the way, I’m pretty sure is definitely not bad enough to be receiving complaints about). Just at the point when I actually feel like I know what I want to do, and I’m enjoying being in uni and making things!
Today I went in to try and sort out the glazed pot mess, I was meant to stay til 4 to get it out of the kiln…only I’m heading back home to do dissertation writing, and to be honest, just being around uni after that email is irritating me. So I left.
Fresh start next week. Fingers crossed things will be better.
